NudeAudio Super-M – Review

Updated after 3 months of use:

JUST a bluetooth speaker, but a really good one

So, how has the Super-M been for these 3 months you may ask? Awesome. I’ve gotten even happier with it since. Bluetooth works like a charm, it sounds great, it has suffered drops without any damage and it looks as good as new. I’ve updated this review with bits and pieces of new text so my experience with the Super-M comes across as accurately as possible. Here’s the old intro for ya:

So, it’s a speaker, the wireless kind but it can also be used with a wired connection. It can also work as a speakerphone if need be. NudeAudio’s philosophy is to leave all but the most essential features out to create the best possible product at a certain price point. This is what got my attention to their Kickstarter project at the first place.

There’s no bullsh*t with the Super-M. It does what it’s made to do, and it does it very well, even better than many of it’s more expensive competitors. If you’re on the lookout for a new bluetooth speaker or you’re completely new to the product category, this could very well be the speaker you want and need.

Let’s just get a bit more in-depth so you’ll know what this is all about.

Kickstarter Highlight : Amalgam by Daniel Reed

Daniel Reed is a 23-years-old graphic designer from Sheffield. Amalgam is a project for Daniel Reed’s series of 4 posters. He got inspiration for the design from Japanese “Tatami” matts often placed side by side to create a bigger surface. Daniel has recreated the patterns the matts create on the floor creating abstract and colourful art.

Google just released their latest line of Nexus devices, the Nexus 6 phone, Nexus 9 tablet and a surprise media box called the Nexus Player which is running the Android TV platform that was released back in June. The Android TV is a version of Android made to be used on TVs.

About the Super-M

Super-M is NudeAudio’s newest speaker, which they launched with a Kickstarter campaign on July 16th. They raised their goal in under 24 hours and when the project ended on August 15th, they had raised almost $840 000, 1119% over their
initial goal of $75 000.

Android One : Google’s way to the low-end smartphone market

First Android One phones

Today, Google released the first smartphones of it’s Android One program. The Android One program works so that Google designs a certain minimum spec sheet for a phone and the manufacturers will just produce them. Because the hardware is specified by Google, they can (and do) promise the phone’s will get the latest Android updates for 2 years after the release of the phone. The phones released today are from Micromax, Spice and Karbonn, and they have 4.5-inch screens, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processors, 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel back and 2-megapixel front cameras, dual SIM-card slots, microSD expandable storage and FM radios. Haven’t seen those in a while!

Apple watch : Impressions

The Apple Watch has a square screen, comes in two sizes, 38 mm and 42 mm and in three different collections, Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition. They say they’ve essentially shrunk a computer on a one tiny chip. The watch has Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and Bluethooth connectivity and also GPS, accelerometer and a heart rate sensor to track your daily activity. You can watch the data it collects on your iPhone via the companion Fitness app. You navigate through the watch UI using the new Digital Crown and the touch screen. Apple calls the touch screen a “Retina display” as usual (It basically just means that the screen has a high enough resolution that you can’t see the individual pixels from a normal viewing distance) and the screen can sense how much pressure you use when you touch it.

What Apple’s smartwatch came to be was bit of a surprise to me.
